Summer Guide to Fire Island

Summer is here and it’s time to head to Fire Island! We love sharing our beautiful community and can’t wait for you to experience the joy, excitement, and uniqueness you won’t find anywhere else.

Fire Island is the ideal summer vacation spot thanks to the wide variety of activities available. The island is 32 miles long and is the longest of four islands protecting the South Shore of Long Island from the Atlantic Ocean. There are shipwrecks, hotels, water taxis, parks and preserves, a lighthouse and so much more. Whether you and your party wish to camp, lounge by the water, or hit the shops, Fire Island has it all.

Every end of Fire Island has hidden gems to explore. There are 17 communities only accessible by ferry. Smith County Park is to the east, while Robert Moses State Park spans across the west side of the island. One of the most popular vacation spots in Ocean Beach and with good reason. It is the unofficial capital thanks to its large downtown, restaurants, bars, and shops. Ocean Beach also has a fun nightlife fueled by dancing and a drink native to Ocean Beach – the Rocket Fuels. The piña coladas are infused with Bacardi 151! This community has everything you could need for a relaxing day in the sun followed by nights out on the town.

For an even more unique and exciting experience, book your stay here at the Fire Island Boatel.
